Title: NYT : Korean Hostages Will Face Anger Back Home
Description: NYT : Freed by Taliban, 19 South Korean Hostages Will Face Relief and Anger Back Home
SEOUL, Sept. 1 — When 19 South Koreans return home on Sunday after six weeks in Taliban captivity, they will face a nation relieved that the hostage ordeal is finally over, but also increasingly angry at their decision to travel to Afghanistan despite government warnings and at what many here consider overzealous proselytizing by Korean churches.
Until their release, criticism of the 19 Koreans, all from Saemmul Presbyterian Church, had been tempered by fears that they might be killed. Now that they are free, a negative reaction is building, with people demanding an accounting of who is to blame for the crisis that some feel damaged South Korea's reputation.
"I expect cannonballs of criticism flying at churches for causing such a disturbance, for squandering national energy and money," said the Rev. Kim Myung-hyuk, president of the Korea Evangelical Fellowship. "This is a good opportunity for Christian-bashing in a society that has been frowning upon churches."
The criticism of the hostages, and of missionary work in Islamic countries, including Afghanistan, has been especially vitriolic on the Web, but newspapers' editorial pages have also expressed the feeling that the entire country has been, in a sense, held hostage since Taliban insurgents on July 19 kidnapped 23 South Koreans — the 19 just freed and four others. The nation was bombarded for weeks by frightening news reports about repeated Taliban promises to kill everyone and about their eventual killing of two. Two other hostages were released Aug. 13.
Critics seem especially outraged that their government was put in what they believe was a no-win situation, forced to enter talks with a terrorist group despite international objections. Debate on that issue is likely to intensify now that the Taliban is alleging South Korea paid them more than $20 million, which they said would be used for more suicide attacks, according to Reuters.
The Korean government has denied such a deal.
"How much national resources have been spent on these 23 crazy people?" said one typical posting on the popular Internet site dcinside.com. "Proselytizing in an Islamic country? They prayed for their own death. I wonder why the government negotiated for their sake to begin with."
And Shin Yong-gug, secretary general of the nonprofit group People's Association of Religion Critics, said, "Most consider this a man-made disaster sown by Korean churches' indiscriminate zeal to proselytize and their disregard for safety."
South Korea — which is about 30 percent Christian — has become the second-largest exporter of missionaries, after the United States, with almost 17,000 in 170 countries.
Although concerns about missionary work in Muslim countries have been especially pronounced since the remaining hostages were released this week, questions about Korean churches' zeal to spread their faith in such places have been quietly growing in recent years. Critics have feared that trying to spread Christianity among Muslims shows a disrespect for local culture.
The Korea Times, an English-language daily in Seoul, said in an editorial in its weekend edition: "The Protestant churches need to stop their hitherto egocentric and unilateral missionary style of pushing for their own religion, without respecting the specific different beliefs and cultural characteristics of those whom they intend to convert."
Saemmul Presbyterian Church and the South Korean government insisted that the hostages had not been proselytizing, just providing aid. But many religious experts here consider such a distinction meaningless, because Korean churches provide aid in order to gain converts.
South Koreans have generally had warm feelings about missionary work — or at least the work of missionaries here. Although Koreans generally bristle at reminders of the many years their country was controlled by or under the sway of foreigners, American evangelists who came here in the late 1800s are remembered for their contributions. They built some of the country's oldest hospitals and universities, and Christian pastors fought for democracy during past dictatorships.
Still, as South Korea's Christians have become more focused on spreading their faith, there has been growing discomfort in this country, whose roots are Confucian and Buddhist. These days, church vans mounted with loudspeakers sometimes race through the streets of Seoul, broadcasting their message, and sign-carrying proselytizers often weave through subway crowds yelling, "If you don't believe in Jesus Christ, you will go to hell."
All major church groups have apologized for the Afghan crisis and vowed to rethink their way of proselytizing. And as part of the deal to release the hostages, the South Korean government promised the Taliban that it would prevent missionaries from traveling to Afghanistan.

This is a Music Video with the song Stand Up by Trapt off there awesome album "Someone In Control" and clips from the movie Rundown.
Hope you enjoy!
(It took about 3 and a half hours to make and i was working with 499 very short clips of the movie. they were about 8 seconds each. So it was harder and easier at the same time to edit the clips. I think it may be one of my better videos, at least syncing the clips with the music wise.)
Yummy!

Lyrics
Why don't you let me be
Leave me alone
You start a fire inside that I could never control
You wanna see a reaction
Come on and cut me down
You've gone as far as I'll go
Now you're crossing the line
And I am letting you know
Well here's your reaction
Stand up
I have had enough
Walk away before I finish what you started
Face to face I will put you in your place
End this game before I finish what you started
Face to face everything will change
You planted the seed
How my anger has grown
Got an feeling inside that I can't seem to control
You wanna see a reaction
Come on and cut me down
You've gone as far as I'll go
Now you're crossing the line and I am letting you know
Well here's your reaction
Stand up
I have had enough
Walk away before I finish what you started
Face to face I will put you in your place
End this game before I finish what you started
Face to face everything will change
Insult
After insult [9x]
Stand up
I have had enough
Walk away before I finish what you started
Face to face I will put you in your place
End this game before I finish what you started
Face to face everything will change
Walk away
Everthing will change
End this game
You wanna see a reaction
You wanna see a reaction
Stand up

Title: Lovage-Anger Managment
Description: Enjoy! Lyrics: My inner demons compel me to be here
your cheeks are flush like rose petals
you're consumed with rage but I'm consumed with you
our eyes intertwine through the haze
intoxicated by your bloodshot stare
in all of my dreams i never thought i'd see
a face that could launch a thousand ships
and the music was like wind in your hair
the moonlight caressed your silhouette
kiss of ocean mist is in the air
why must god punish me this way
lay down my hand the next move is yours
as you undress me with your frozen eyes
in all of my dreams I never thought I'd see
an endless love to share my blue lagoon
and the music was like wind in your hair
the moonlight caressed your silhouette
kiss of ocean mist is in the air
why must god punish me this way
happiness is hard to come by
but I've had my fair share
the satin sheets, the lemon peels
the minor keys, the major pills
we've climbed the mountain, saw the top
and planted the apple seed
and can't you see we could've had it all
and the music was like wind in your hair
the moonlight caressed your silhouette
kiss of ocean mist is in the air
why must God punish me this way
and the music was like wind in your hair
the moonlight caressed your silhouette
kiss of ocean mist is in the air
why must god punish me this way
why must god punish me this way
this way, this way, this way ...
Title: "Don't look back in anger" by Oasis
Description: Cover of the song "Don't look back in anger" by Oasis. Brings me back to junior high.. I think that makes me old. =P
Lyrics:
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd once never been
All the things that you've seen
Will slowly fade away
So I'll start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say
Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows if it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock n Roll band
Who'll throw it all away
So I'll start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say
Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
At least not today
(shortened the ending)

Title: Procol Harum - A whiter shade of pale 1967
Description: We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see.
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might have just as wellve been closed
She said, Im home on shore leave,
Though in truth we were at sea
So I took her by the looking glass
And forced her to agree
Saying, you must be the mermaid
Who took neptune for a ride.
But she smiled at me so sadly
That my anger straightway died
If music be the food of love
Then laughter is its queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

Title: Sheryl Crow - "Out Of Our Heads" (Music Video, 2008)
Description: From "Detours". Director: Martyn Atkins. Lyrics and Music: Crow; Bottrell.
If you feel you wanna fight me
There's a chain around your mind
When something is holding you tightly
What is real is so hard to find
Losing babies to genocide
Oh where's the meaning in that plight
Can't you see that we've really bought into
Every word they proclaimed and every lie, oh
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
Someone's feeding on your anger
Someone's been whispering in your ear
You've seen his face before
You've been played before
These aren't the words you need to hear
Through the dawn of darkness blindly
You have blood upon your hands
All the world will treat you kindly
But only the heart can understand, oh understand
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your
Tears and look to your heart
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your
Tears and look to your heart
Every man is his own prophet
Oh every prophet just a man
I say all the women stand up, say yes to themselves
Teach your children best you can
Let every man bow to the best in himself
We're not killing any more
We're the wisest ones, everybody listen
'Cause you can't fight this feeling any more, oh anymore
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your
Tears and look to your heart
If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads
And into our hearts
Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your
Tears and look to your heart
Title: Lost in the Struggle (Jane-Finch.com, Chuckie, Burnz, Freshy)

LOST IN THE STRUGGLE
The fifth estate wanted to know why young men in some neighbourhoods of Canadian cities are drawn to a culture of violence. A culture where drug sales are often a source of income, friendships are defended with weapons, and a deadly dispute can start with a disrespectful glance.
Rather than accessing this world through the police or social workers, producers wanted to document the lives of the young men in their own voices. To learn what options are available to a young person who grows up in a culture where loyalty is determined by whom you're willing to protect. And to understand how they get left behind by the systems of education, social services and justice that are supposed to protect them.
Local filmmakers
To get the access needed to tell this story, producers enlisted two young filmmakers. Paul Nguyen and Mark Simms grew up in Toronto's Jane and Finch neighbourhood, an area that has waged a decades-long battle against a reputation for violence and hopelessness.
Chuckie and Burnz met through their common love of rap music. Simms and Nguyen introduced producers at the fifth estate to three young men who have all lived with violence, at times as the victim, at times the perpetrator. Phong Nguyen, aka Chuckie, Andrew Burnett, aka Burnz and Albi Aziz, aka Freshy, all grew up in Jane and Finch.
One has lived by the gun from a young age. Another desperately wants to get out of the cycle of violence and retribution but doesn't know how. The other aspires to a criminal life despite the better options available to him.
The fifth estate, together with Simms and Nguyen as film crew, spent 10 months following Chuckie's, Burnz' and Freshy's lives, from their criminal exploits and encounters with the justice system to their relationships with family, friends, and each other.
The turns their lives took, the dilemmas they faced and the decisions they made formed the narrative of the story. The stories that unfold are of struggle: to succeed when poverty, lack of education and opportunity pull you down; to escape from the only life you've known; and to make positive choices in the face of anger and aimlessness.
Title: Universal Face - Eldad Levy www.eldadlevy.com
Description: Eldad Levi was born in central Israel, a descendent of Levites on both sides for generations back. Early on in his life journey, he took an interest in various arts, including studying and practicing Tai Chi, participating in a three-year course in Jewish medicine according to the teachings of Maimonides, creating leather objects and jewelry, and healing with gems.
Eldad's search led to him to music, which has been his life focus for the past ten years. Central his work has been an intensive study of ancient musical sources dating back to the Temple period. The Talmud teaches that the Levites would sing during sacrifices to help foster an even closer connection with the Holy One. Different melodic patterns, or maqaamat, as they are called in Oriental music, would evoke different emotions. Thus one melody would be sung to remedy jealousy, another - anger. Maqam means 'place,' and in this context could be understood as a place in the soul. This is precisely the effect Eldad seeks in his music - a way of connecting with audiences and of bringing people together by reaching them at the level of their soul.
Over the past years, Eldad has taken an active part in many projects that use music to foster communication and unity. He plays in a number of ensembles, but his primary band is Azamer B'Shvachin, made of musicians from top Israeli bands who became religious and banded together in their mission to bring a fusion of western styles - jazz blues, rock, Western - and Eastern modes from the Oriental Jewish traditions - into popular Jewish music.
Eldad plays instruments dating from the Temple period: the harmonium (a biblical accordion), ancient hand drums, and the Persian Santur, a trapezoid-shaped box often made of walnut, with 72 strings, played with mallets in the fashion of a hammered dulcimer.
