CHRISTIAN ART SONGS, VOLUME 2
Written by Sancie Earman King
Music written, arranged and performed by Fr. J. Roel Lungay
1
Each day should bring us promise
That we can start anew
When sun is on horizon
And grass is wet with dew.
2
For life with all its mishaps
Is like a lengthy day
With many smiles and teardrops
To help us pave the way.
3
If only we could realize
Why God wants us to start
Each day with prayer and praising
That we might touch His heart.
4
So let's begin our prayer time
As birds begin to sing
That we might find our haven
Beneath the Father's wing!
Coda:
Beneath the Father's wing!
Beneath the Father's wing!

THE SONG AND AN ANNOUNCEMENT ARE ABOUT 9 Minutes into the vid!
THE QUITTING MISSION
A BEGINNING NOTE! This vid goes out to the people we've lost to addictions...let them be our inspiration to live good lives...That's what they would want!
I've finished 6 days of cig free living! I am going STRONG! I still have a long fight...and the cravings come...but every day I feel like I have more power over them! Thanks to you...I feel like it's IMPOSSIBLE to fail! If you're quitting cigs or anything with me...WE CAN DO IT! Let's give each other support...grab our MONKEYS and face the storm! Haha ;) Really though...I'm proud to have all you guys as friends...and the fact that my health matters to you...it's unbelievable...you guys are amazing...and you've changed my life!
IN REGARDS TO CHANGING MY LIFE...I have a little SURPRISE for you tomorrow...I'm gonna work on it tonight...and I'll tell you what it is on my vid tomorrow! I hope you think it's a cool surprise...cause I owe you all something cool! You saved me! I owe you breath...and longevity! Haha ;)
THE SONG
The song is called ASHTRAY ... a fitting name HAHA ;)...it doesn't just apply to cigarettes...it applies to anything toxic...a relationship...a lifestyle...and ridding yourself of the habit...facing temptation as an opportunity to make a good decision!
And basking in the satisfying glow of freedom! Haha ;) Okay..that might be a little TOO much...
HERE ARE THE LYRICS:
ASHTRAY
By Tommy Knox
You say it's just a game,
But you're the only one who's playin it
I'm jumping off this train and heading home
Somewhere I lost my groove like stella
Forgot how to move I better
Start a new path to anyone but you,
And here I go I feel the funk,
Pick up my shoes and kick dirt up,
My blues drift like a ghost into the night
Nothing could quit compare
To all the rythym in the air
That dances back to me when you're not by my side,
By my side,
And I am fine,
I'm okay,
Please don't lead me please don't lead me ashtray,
And I'm alright,
Really I'm okay
Please don't lead me please don't lead me ashtray
Never Coming Back to you
You say your not a crime
but I'm doin time for you,
Legality seems like it's your facade,
You're supposed to be for play
But you made me work everyday
It's time for permanent vacation without you,
And I am off here comes the beat
In rythym with my hands and feet,
My worry just gave in without a fight,
Nothing could quit compare
To all the rythym in the air
That dances back to me when you're not by my side,
By my side,
And I am fine,
I'm okay,
Please don't lead me please don't lead me ashtray,
And I'm alright,
Really I'm okay
Please don't lead me please don't lead me ashtray
Never Coming Back to you
You say it's just a game
And now I'm the one who's playin,
I'm so far from the train here at home,
I got my groove back just like stella
And now I move even better anywhere
With anyone but you,
Ashtray - A Tommy Knox Original Song

Good morning how are you
always be well
when you are near me
and when you are away
I hope each day
is a new start
good morning how are you
I love you very much
Good morning how are you
always be well
don't lose your courage
keep your head high
good morning my happiness
good morning life

when you are near me
and when you are away
I hope each day

good morning how are you
I love you very much
Good morning how are you
always be well
and whenever you think
that everything is going wrong
always something will turn up
don't ask why
good morning how are you
I love you very much
Title: Adam's Song (Original Song)
Description: Another Philosophical song for all you Dad's out there on Mother's Day. Oh...to go back to the days when all I worried about was if he would have ten fingers and ten toes. God Bless me ...he does. He also has a heart of gold, intelligence, talent and the full capacity for knowledge of the Universe. Will Rogers once said, "When I was 14 I thought my Dad was an Idiot, When I turned 21 I was surprised how much he had learned in 7 years". That about sums it up. So this one is for the Dad's and most of all for the Love of My Life....ADAM.!
Adam's Song (Original Song)
Lyrics
If I've fallen by the way, Will you help me on the trail
If I've weakened in my ways, Will you rest me for a spell
When my heart is growing weary, Will you renew my faith
When my mortal self is no more, Will you carry on my ways
When I was a younger Man, I was so Damn much like you
Had a big heart full of dreams, But I didn't have a clue
Time redeems the patient Thinker, But a Do'er you must be
Or you're time will simply pass by, Then you'll be a lot like me
Chorus
Time marches on
Towards the Sun
And you'll grow older each day
Days turn to years
Years turn to tears
If you don't do things your own way
Now, There is no perfect life, But there is no greater gift
When I held you as a child, I had never felt such bliss
And I watched in God's pure wonder, as you became a Man
Praying like each Dad before me, You'll be better than I am
One day the time will come, You'll find Love and take a wife
With respect and selfless trust, You'll find happiness in life
In a bond of the Lord's making, You will watch life start anew
If one wish I could be granted, That child would be a lot like you
Chorus
Time marches on
Towards the Sun
And you'll grow stronger each day
Days turn to years
Years conquer fears
If you are true in your ways

Kristin Chenoweth is an award-winning American singer and musical theatre, film and television actress. Some of her best-known roles have included Glinda in Broadway's Wicked and Annabeth Schott in television's The West Wing. She is currently appearing in the role of Olive Snook on the ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies for which she received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. She is also the face of Jude Frances jewelry. Chenoweth has a distinctive speaking voice. In FHM's March 2006 issue, she compared her voice to that of Betty Boop. Chenoweth is a soprano known for her powerful singing technique.
Chenoweth was born Kristi Dawn Chenoweth (she added an "n" in her first name later because she thought that "Kristin" was a more operatic name than "Kristi") in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was adopted at birth. Chenoweth's ancestry includes one-quarter Cherokee lineage. After studying drama at Broken Arrow High School under Billie Sue Thompson, Chenoweth attended Oklahoma City University, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta (Beta Omicron) Sorority. She earned a bachelor's degree in musical theater and a master's degree in opera performance, studying under Florence Birdwell who taught Miss America 1981 Susan Powell and three-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara. While at OCU, Chenoweth won the title of "Miss OCU" and went on to win second runner-up in the Miss Oklahoma pageant in 1991. She also performed at Opryland USA.
Chenoweth made her Broadway debut in a production of Molière's Scapin starring Bill Irwin, followed in the spring of 1997 by the musical Steel Pier by John Kander and Fred Ebb, for which she won a Theatre World award. The following season, she appeared in the City Center Encores! production of the George and Ira Gershwin musical Strike Up the Band and the Lincoln Center Theater production of William Finn's A New Brain. She has performed several times on the radio program A Prairie Home Companion.
During the 19981999 season, she performed in the Broadway revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown as the title character's sister, Sally, a character that was not present in the original production. (That character replaces the obscure Peanuts character Patty, not to be confused with Peppermint Patty.) The production won Chenoweth the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards as the season's Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She then starred in the Broadway comedy Epic Proportions, followed by appearances in ABC's television adaptation of the musical Annie (as Lily St. Regis), and in the leading role of Daisy Gamble in the City Center Encores! production of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
In 2003, Chenoweth performed songs from her album Let Yourself Go in concert for Lincoln Center's 5th American Songbook. She also performed in City Center Encores! 10th Anniversary Bash. In London, she was involved in Divas at Donmar for director Sam Mendes, then appeared in the Actor's Fund Benefit Concert of the musical Funny Girl in New York City.
In October 2003, Chenoweth returned to Broadway in Wicked, the smash hit musical about the early years of the witches of Oz. She was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Glinda. After playing Glinda for nine months (not including the years leading up to the Broadway run where she played the role in all of the show's workshops), Chenoweth left Wicked on 18 July 2004 along with co-stars Joel Grey and Norbert Leo Butz. Chenoweth was replaced by Jennifer Laura Thompson.

Title: ZSAI 2008
Description: Zaytuna Summer 2008 Graduation Ceremony
Brother Dawud's Poem
Al-Weird Latif / Dawud McCarthy
The young Muslim can feel abused
His brothers make him feel so confused
They point the finger at his point of views
Asks for help but gets refused
Sometimes you want leave the deen entirely
When the Imam dismissed your entire society
So much pressure you're ready to pop
Can't you do your dhikh in the form of hip hop?
For years we've struggled through this phase
Of trying to find the American ways
To know what's up
But still lower our gaze
The shades of gray only grew more dense
Does Islam in this country even make sense?
Of your jeans and t-shirts you're in constant defense
Can't the yard of the mosque have a white picket fence?
From my circumstances I had to get free
And I heard there was shade under the olive tree
Made up my mind to make a new start
Going to California with an aching in my heart
So each night I prayed and prayed
for Allah to send me to meet Imam Zaid
Before I end up completely reclusive
I had to talk to Hamza Yusef
Prayers were answered, bags to pack
Go West young man and Don't Look Back
Find if its true that I'm a villain
If I eat hot dogs and sing Bob Dylan
Make salah and go to class
I hope I find the truth at last
Would learning Arabic make it easy
To translate the Shariah to Engleezy?
I must have thought my eyes had lied
The girls and boys sat side by side!
And I almost had a heart attack
When I heard Imam Zaid quote the Man in Black!
How refreshing it is to see
Islam with gender equality
American born spiritual reformers
Who used to skate board and watch "Transformers"
And what a beautiful surprise
A culture I could recognize
Muslims who can mix between
Seen, sheen and Rage Against the Machine
Finally my heart felt free
With 'Abdullah 'Ali and Ustadh D
They took the complex to simplicity
Walking Alif Baa Taa to Run DMC (or Mork and Mindy)
And did Huey Lewis hear the news
That our Imam wears Adidas shoes?
And accepts the point of different views
And marches to the beat of this song
Maybe we can all get along
What do you think the muftis would say
If they heard the idea
That both Sunni and Shia
Feel that its OK to pray
Side by side in the city by the Bay?
Amazing that a little tolerance now
Can slaughter the old sacred cow
A little Abdul Latif will correct false belief
An application oh so vital
Use a Public Enemy to smash a Billy Idol
A middle way that can be found
Educated Islam in a college town
In halaqas we'd gather 'round
Quoting 'Omar, 'Ali, and James Brown
The Berkeley scene is great for joking
But I don't know what that guy was smoking
It really is an incredible town
If only the frat house could keep it down
So make our spirits feel at peace
We'd burn some Ood with Rhamis
And if our evenings ever needed a spark
I'm pretty sure his shoes glow in the dark
And if we needed room to pray
During San Fransisco stay
We had Sevim to plan our day
If our hunger made us mad
We looked no further than Ebad
Who knew where tasty meals are had
Because safe inside Zaytuna school
We take exception to the rule
That you must choose between Islam and cool
Between the 4th of July and Fiqh and Usool
Only an accusative tool could be so cruel
We on the A-Team pity the fool
And then you woke up to these realities
East Coast Shafi'is meet West Side Malikis
Each day in class we get our fix
Verb conjugation and politics
If I ask not what my country can do for me
The grammar makes its plain to see
That I would trade Barack Obama
For candidate Sidi Usama
Like the Monkees, I'm believin'
That a truly inspired resident
Would make Eric B the president
And stop the bleedin'
Do you really think they would come from Sweden
For anything less than the Garden of Eden?
For an Arabic Summer dream come true
From around the world on planes they flew
From Australia to Great Britain
Trying to find where we all fit it
To find religion at its best
Revival coming from the West
Lessons we can teach the rest
For these two months Allah I praise
I'll remember them the rest of my days
God bless Zaytuna Institute
For the misconceptions it does refute
Incredibly we've come so far
Filled with pride for who we are
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
I once was lost but now I'm found
And if you know what I mean
Make du'a and say "Ameen"
Say Ameen!
Title: Open To Let It In (original)
Description: Open To Let It In ~ An original tune by Meg Graham
Copyright © 2007 Margaret Graham
I'd been one to walk on my tippy toes.
But now I need to forge ahead.
Enough of standing of the sidelines.
It's time for me to go instead.
I am turning a new page.
Not going to let the past stand in my way.
Off on this new adventure.
Asking for what I want instead of being afraid.
Here's to all my desires in love and in life.
No reasons to not to be asking.
I am so tired of standing in line.
I am going to start making each day one at a time.
No more of my complaining.
It's time to finally make it mine.
Open to let it in.
I am open to let it in.
All my dreams inside.
Open to let it in.
No more resisting and holding onto my pride.
I have been one to walk on my tippy toes.
But now it time to forge ahead.
Enough of standing of the sidelines.
It's time for me to go instead.
I am turning a new page.
Not going to let the past stand in my way.
Off on this new adventure.
Asking for what I want instead of being afraid.

I am going to start making each day one at a time.
No more of my complaining.

All my dreams inside.
Open to let it in.
Open to let it in.
Thank YOU Boys and Girrrls for listening! You make the ride so much MORE fun!!

Title: ATONAL MUSIC "Time Reflections"
Description: Atonality has maximum dissonance. Pics go with the "eerie" sounds. Music with no tonal center, created by using the 12-tone technique originated by famous composer Arnold Schoenberg. There is no I,IV, V chords as found in world music. Rather 12 pitches with dissonant intervals from one to the next are used. One must use the order strictly. If chords are to be played you must group only the three, four etc., notes next to each other. You must avoid pleasing sounds, or consonance. If any one is interested I could do a vid explaining this in greater detail. I hope you will give it a listen to the end.(I have a unique sequence of photos toward the end.) I composed this back in 1988 while attending the University in Nevada Las Vegas. (I was 23 at that time) There I studied Atonality. I was surprised how ordered the system was. It kind of grew on me and it definitely gave off a new sound striving for dissonance rather than consonance in which the world culture is mainly steeped in. I wrote about five of these compositions about the same time in 1988. Please see the video describing Atonality in my favorites.
The photos are by my friend Harv Kahn. When he lived in New York he took alot of different photos. I tried throwing together some "dissonant" looking photos. When Harv passed away he left me his many thousands of slides. For a few of his eye-pleasing Train pics go here:http://harvkahn.tripod.com
Anyway I hope you can handle this music. If you can't I totally understand. If it is the least liked of all my vids, no problem. I would like to hear what your reaction is to Atonal music. SOme may find themselves coming back to this vid occassionally because it does evoke a human emotion(s) we all experience or see around us. Even a dark dismal dreary day thirsts for music to match it. Atonality can do it. Be open-minded to it. At first you might say, "What the heck?" But keep in mind the method in composing this is very ordered. It is not random at all. You have the 12 different notes lined up. You can play them backwards, inverted and so on as long as the order is not broken. If you composed a good tone row of pitches, this is the type of music you will get.
Title: The Message / The Anthem - original song
Description: COME ON IN!
welcome to my wormy hell.
the music grinds off-key.
fish eyes watch from the wall.
this is where the last happy shot was
fired.
the mind snaps closed
like a mind snapping
closed.
we need to discover a new will and a new
way.
we're stuck here now
listening to the laughter of the
gods.
my temples ache with the fact of
the facts.
I get up, move about, scratch myself.
I'm a pawn.
I am a hungry prayer.
my wormy hell welcomes you.
hello. hello. there. come in, come on in!
plenty of room for us all,
sucker.
we can only blame ourselves so
come sit with me in the dark.
it's half-past
nowhere
everywhere.
(charles bukowski)
THE MESSAGE:
when we start to talk about all the crazy roads we're on
im not so sure we all notice the road that every road is on
well sure you make a footprint and you fill it up with rain
but now we just make more people and we fill them up with pain
when we start to think about what it is that makes you shake
im not so sure that i myself am brave enough to take but
growing steady strong with each day and
every morning i got another bright new dream to relate well
when i start confess how it was i lost my job, or my will, my ambition, my utter faith in god,
i'm not so sure that each one of you is safe to look inside yourselves and find out what it is you need to break
when i start to tell you how much it is that we all mean well that doesnt mean
long live every single human being well
no it doesnt mean lets try to keep us all of us alive for tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow until the end of time no
it just means that we're all humanity, if you just live for yourself and the ones called family
or crew or clan or troupe or tribe its all the same to me just
live love forget breathe in deep and be just be just be.
when you're starting listing all the things you gotta have
a fluffy bed, a nice warm house, a full meal and a half
well it aint nothing on that list thats killing me
but the last clause included thats what says
you gotta do just what you see.
this is the way, we're after dachau, 10 thousand years time
and now we're all following this gospel right down line for line
and you get up and ask yourself Wait why was it that I stood?
and you say oh yeah thats cause i'm just feeling so damn good
well now let me rephrase what it was i meant to say all those years ago on that cold november day when i was born,
instead of that awful crying scream,
what i meant to say was, this is chill. just be just be just be.
when its time to question, now what it is we do?
whats the answer that we're seeking could we just get one clue
well here's the answer i think i'll make it as plain as it could be
Live. Love. Forget. Breathe in Deep. and Be just Be just Be!!!!!
THE ANTHEM:
well we all got complaints to throw down on the bar
we all got a little happiness locked in a jar
we all pack some bowls of "chill yourself out" and
smoke another "forget it all" and pound another round we got
we all got some beer bottle to break
we all got a little zippo light and a big bottle of mace and we all got the tags and we got the cans of spray paint but what do we say? now what do we say
we're writing "god almighty jesus christ" up above our heads we're spinning round with sparklers crossing deceased off our list, holding funerals although you say we go to heaven
but heaven's just another word for living loving and forgetting
well janis says when you're free what could you lose
when you're falling down you don't need no more booze
you're sitting on the pile of gold asking me for clues
"now what do we do? now what do we do?"
plastic dolls and buy-it-alls, mcdonalds and the rest,
shopping malls and collect calls during dinner is the best
well markets that are filled with human food and
the slowly fading "real world" thats whats got me in this mood
well
lock me away for any beat i slay
chain me up and throw away the key
i cant compete within this flawed mystery
this misery has risen in me and i cant make it leave
well let me ask you this, anyone happy
how'd you get to that supreme state of being was it denial of all the basic facts you see
yeah sure i can see that you are brave but do you know that you are free

His Star Spangled Banner
is the boldest in town.
It's dusty and all tangled
where his dog lays down.....
His Grand Father died in the fields of ....France.....
His Father disappeared in ....Japan.....
His mother flew the flag high at every chance
when he was lost in ....Vietnam.....
With her hand on her heart,
near the flag each day would start.
Bring the boys back home if you can.
........(harp set)....
His son has a lover
and her tears take him back.
She's just like his mother
and the mum before that.
The dog will find himself a new bed
The flag must fly again outside our home.....
'What else can a girl do she said?
I love him and I can not live alone.
With their hands on their heart
watched a fine young man depart
to the war in the sands of Iraq....harp
With their hands on their heart
watched a fine young man depart
to the war in the sands of Iraq
The Star Spangled Banner is my prayer.
Fly it high and show him that you care.(harp set) end(words and music by Doug Payne Aug 2008 copyright.©)....

A mother son wedding song
Lyrics...I'll Always Be Your Mother
http://www.shopmysongs.com
This is a special day
When two are joined as one
I love my new daughter
I'll always love you son
Care for each other
Be faithful till the end
Follow what's in your heart
May you always stay best friends
Chorus:
It's the start of your new life
As husband & wife
Hope the good days outshine the bad
May laughter brighten the sad
Know I'm here for you
To help or just talk to
Believe in each other
I'll always be your mother
The day will be here soon
When you'll have Kids to love
God will watch over you
From heaven up above
Pray for patience & wisdom
To give your kids your best
You'll teach them right from wrong
They'll bring you happiness
Chorus Repeat
Bridge:
I'll always be your mother,
it completes my life
My tears are filled with love,
for you & your new wife
You are a caring son,
I'll forever be proud of
Cherish your new bride,
We can always share your love
It's the start of your new life
Believe in each other
I'll always be your mother

I'll Always Be Your Mother is a new mother and son wedding song that I wrote for my son's wedding in 2006.
When my son told me he was getting married, I knew I wanted to write a song for him and his new bride. My intention was to give him something special and personal. As I started to write the song, it became more obvious to me that it would be a wonderful song to be played at the wedding that he and I could dance to.
The focus of this mother & son wedding song was not so much about him as a boy growing up. It was about his special wedding day and the start of his new life with his new bride. I wanted to welcome his new bride into our family as my new daughter and wanted her to know that we could always share his love. I wanted to let him know that I would always be there for him. I wanted my son to see his new wife as his best friend and that it's important to always be faithful to each other.
I wrote the lyrics for this mother son song and Jim McShane wrote the music. We recorded the song in a traditional version and played it at the wedding. It was beautiful to everyone, young and old, male and female. I was encouraged by so many people to publish the CD and make it available to others. So, with this encouragement, Jim and I also recorded a mother & son country version and released our single, recorded in both the traditional and country versions in May of 2007. The CD is available at www.shopmysongs.com where you can view the lyrics and listen to a short clip of both versions of the song.
I am not only a proud mother of two boys and a daughter-in-law, I am now a proud grandmother of beautiful little girl.
Best wishes to all mothers & sons, brides, and parents on their special day.

A Meditation on Psalm 24
F# D A
Everything I have is yours
But Im having trouble letting go
Ive built these walls right here by hand
These blood and sweat stains I have to show
D A
They keep me comfortable
They keep me sane
They help me blend in
E
I can go with the grain
A D E
But I need a new, new heart
A D E
Please come inside and rip these walls apart
A D E
I need new, new heart

Wash my hands and give me a brand new start
