Title: John Lennon - Crippled Inside

"Crippled Inside" is a song written and performed by John Lennon from his 1971 album Imagine.
The song's lyrics detail examples of false pretenses in human behavior, as well as common hypocrisy. Lennon especially attacks religion, which he did not believe in, as a prime source of hypocrisy, saying, "You can go to church and sing a hymn" and that "You can live a lie until you die, but one thing you can't hide, is when you're crippled inside."
Lennon also incorporates the myth about a cat having nine lives into the song, and compares it to a dog's one: "Well now you know that your cat has nine lives, babe, nine lives to itself, but you only got one, and a dog's life ain't fun." This could be interpreted as a veiled criticism of reincarnation, advising listeners to instead focus on the one life that they do have.
The song combines the bleak lyrical content of Lennon's prior solo recording, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, with the more upbeat musical arrangements typical to the rest of Imagine. Lennon would later express his displeasure with the more commercial sound of the album, even going so far as to say that the title track was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted." The song is also noticeably influenced by country music, becoming Lennon's own spin on country rock, which he dabbled in both as a Beatle and later in his solo career.
Trivia
John Lennon's fellow former Beatle George Harrison plays dobro on the song, with Klaus Voormann (a longtime friend of the Beatles and designer of the cover for their Revolver album) on upright bass.
Jam Band Widespread Panic has covered the song a number of times during their Summer 2007 Tour.
Lyrics:
You can shine you're shoes
And wear a suit
You can comb your hair
And look quite cute
You can hide your face
Behind a smile
One thing you can't hide
Is when you're crippled inside
You wear a mask
And paint your face
You can call yourself
The human race
You can wear a collar
And a tie
But the one thing you
Can't hide is when you're
Crippled inside
Well now you know that your
Cat has nine lives babe
Nine loves to itself
But you only got one
And a dog life ain't no fun
Mamma take a look outside.
You can go to church
And sing a hymn
Judge me by the color
Of my skin
You can live a lie until you die
One thing you can't hide
Is when you're crippled inside
Title: Imagine - John Lennon and The Plastic Ono Band
Description: I cannot stop listening this wonderful sonng.
Thanks to YOUTUBE,I'm able to watch all this beautiful videos.
"Imagine" is a utopian song performed by John Lennon, which appears on his 1971 album Imagine. Although originally credited solely to Lennon, in recent years Yoko Ono's contribution to the song has become more widely acknowledged. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine voted "Imagine" the third greatest song of all time.
In the book Lennon in America, written by Geoffrey Giuliano, Lennon commented the song was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted."
The lyrics were thought to be inspired solely by Lennon's hopes for a more peaceful world. In reality, the song's refrain was coined by Yoko Ono, in reaction to her childhood in Japan during World War II. According to The Sunday Times, the song's refrain can be found in several of her poems written in the early 1960s, before she met Lennon, and in her 1965 book Grapefruit.
Lennon's claims against property and religion, as well as his repeated use of "the people," have led some to posit the song as being advocative of humanism, communism, and anarchism.

i made this music video with johns song God, from the album Plastic Ono Band, i hope you like it, please rate and comment and if you want to, please favorite.
"God" is a song from John Lennon's first post-Beatles solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. The album was released on December 11, 1970 in the U.S. and the UK.
This song was very controversial upon its release, dealing with religious themes, atheism, and harsh feelings towards The Beatles.
It featured Ringo Starr on drums and Billy Preston on piano.
Meaning
The first movement of the song discusses Lennon's disdain for religious belief. He believed that God was something different to everyone, and that most people did not focus enough on the moral lessons of religion. He describes God as "a concept by which we measure our pain".
In the second section of the song, Lennon lists many idols that he does not believe in (including The Beatles), ending by stating that he just believes in himself. Other idols he listed included magic, I Ching, the Bible, tarot, Hitler, Jesus, Kennedy, Buddha, mantra, Gita, yoga, kings, Elvis, and Zimmerman (Bob Dylan).
The final section of the song describes Lennon's change since the breakup of The Beatles. He states that he is no longer the "Dreamweaver" or "The Walrus," but just "John." The final line of the song, "The dream is over," represents Lennon's stance that the myth of The Beatles had come to an end.
Lyrics
God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I'll say it again,
God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I don't believe in magic,
I don't believe in I-ching,
I don't believe in bible,
I don't believe in tarot,
I don't believe in Hitler,
I don't believe in Jesus,
I don't believe in Kennedy,
I don't believe in Buddha,
I don't believe in mantra,
I don't believe in Gita,
I don't believe in yoga,
I don't believe in kings,
I don't believe in Elvis,
I don't believe in Zimmerman,
I don't believe in Beatles,
I just believe in me,
Yoko and me,
And that's reality.
The dream is over,
What can I say?
The dream is over,
Yesterday,
I was dreamweaver,
But now I'm reborn,
I was the walrus,
But now I'm John,
And so dear friends,
You just have to carry on,
The dream is over.

"Hold On" is a song from the album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band by John Lennon with backing from the Plastic Ono Band featuring Ringo Starr on drums and Klaus Voorman on bass. It features only tremolo guitar, drums, and bass guitar, typical of the sparse arrangements Lennon favored at the time. In the middle of the song, Lennon mutters the word "cookie", imitating the Cookie Monster from the U.S. children's television show Sesame Street.
Hold on John, John hold on
It's gonna be alright
You gonna win the fight
Hold on Yoko, Yoko hold on
It's gonna be alright
You gonna make the flight
When you'r by yourself
And there's no-one else
You just tell yourself
To hold on
Hold on world, world hold on
It's gonna be alright
You gonna see the light
When you're one really one
You get things done like they've never been done
So hold on
