Description: Randal "Randy" Brecker (b. Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, November 27, 1945) is an American trumpeter and flugelhornist. He is a highly sought after performer in the genres of jazz, rock, and R&B, and has performed or recorded with Stanley Turrentine, Billy Cobham, Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Sandip Burman, Charles Mingus, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Horace Silver, Frank Zappa, Parliament-Funkadelic, Chris Parker, Jaco Pastorius, Dire Straits, Blue Öyster Cult and many others. In his formative years, Brecker studied trumpet with Bill Adam at Indiana University. Randy Brecker played on the first Blood Sweat & Tears album, Child Is Father to the Man, but left the band when founder Al Kooper and trumpeter Jerry Weiss left. Lew Soloff replaced him for the second and subsequent albums. He was a charter member of Larry Coryell's seminal jazz fusion band The Eleventh House in 1973. Randy Brecker is the older brother of the late jazz saxophonist Michael Brecker (1949-2007). Together they led Dreams and the Brecker Brothers, a popular funk and fusion band which recorded several albums from the 1970s through the 1990s. After the Brecker Brothers disbanded in 1982, Randy recorded and toured as a member of Jaco Pastorius' Word of Mouth big band. It was soon thereafter that he met and later married Brazilian jazz pianist Eliane Elias. Eliane and Randy formed their own band, touring the world several times and recording one album together, Amanda on Passport Records. In the summer of 2001, Randy reunited with his brother Michael for a Europe tour with an acoustic version of the Brecker Brothers, also promoting songs from Hangin´ In The City. His most recent CD for ESC, 34th N Lex released in April of 2003, features eleven new Randy Brecker compositions and arrangements and the "dream horn section" of David Sanborn, Michael Brecker, Fred Wesley and Ronnie Cuber, along with Randy's regular working band and his current wife, the Italian tenor saxophonist Ada Rovatti, whose playing style bears a striking resemblance to Michael Brecker's. He is part of the GRP All Star Big Band.

Participações em shows: Zezé di Camargo e Luciano, acústico MTV com Roberto Carlos, Rock in Rio com Milton Nascimento e Gilberto Gil, Família Lima e Vanessa Jackson. Participações em CDs: Zezé di Camargo e Luciano, Roberto Carlos, Sandra de Sá, Leila Pinheiro, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Banda Eva, Daniel, Eliana, CD FAMA, Vanessa Jackson, Tony Francis, Adriana e a Rapaziada, Xis, Marlon e Maicon, Tributo ao Tim Maia, Yahir e outros. Devida a rica harmonia e um vocal diferenciado, a popularidade do grupo cresceu entre todos esses artistas. A gravadora Sony Music contratou e gravou um CD a fim de lançá-los para todo o Brasil. Mesmo afastados dos caminhos Deus, Ele com sua infinita misericórdia nunca os abandou, no momento certo colocou sua poderosa mão sobre o grupo, não deixando assim que o CD gravado pela Sony fosse lançado. O grupo ganhou o prêmio TIM de Música Brasileira como melhor grupo na categoria canção popular concorrendo com as bandas LS Jack e Jamil e uma Noites. Com proposta de gravadora como Universal Music, BMG e Abril Music, mesmo assim o grupo preferiu fazer o que sempre gostaram que é louvar o nome do Santo Deus. Direcionados pela Pastor Jonas Pinho o grupo se rebatizou no ano de 2003 pelo próprio Pastor. Gravou o CD Princípios, patrocinado por Tércio Pinho e Tânia Borges e deste então o grupo tem sido abençoado ao ministrar e divulgar o nome de Deus. Com a saída do componente Fabio Vianna em julho de 2004 Everson Campos (23) integra o grupo, com nova formação o quarteto fez uma turnê por 3 países da Europa.

Karaoke-music is much easier to sing, because it follows a rather stable rhythm and it is usually set in a manageable pitch (or the latter can be adjusted by the bar). Description: Biography by Scott Yanow Originally called Steps when it was formed in 1979 by vibraphonist Mike Mainieri, this group at various times has included tenor saxophonist Michael Brecker; keyboardists Don Grolnick, Eliane Elias, and Rachel Z; guitarist Mike Stern; bassists Eddie Gomez and Darryl Jones; and drummers Peter Erskine and Steve Smith, among others. Its music combines advanced jazz, R&B, rock, and fusion and is frequently exciting. Steps Ahead was most active during 1979-1986, although it still existed on a part-time basis in the mid-'90s.
