Description: Xasthur is a one man American Black Metal band founded by Malefic and first had a drummer by the name of Ritual. Ritual left and from the on Xasthur was sole musician of the "band". This particular track, Abysmal Depths Are Flooded, is from the album Telepathic With The Deceased, Xasthur's 3rd full length album. What I did for the video was really try to go for something GRIM. So I spliced together a couple things, including a show about buddihism and death among others, and combine it. The approach was to make something like a guy having a bad nightmare or an "old hag" attack if you know what that is, on video set to the music, and the clips combined with experiences of bad dreams I've had myself certainly helped. The man sleeping in bed has a terrible bad dream about the world ending and his soul falling into an abyssial void, along with other inexplainable visions. While the "Xastur", which is a Sumerian entity that attacks people in thier sleep, works its horrors on the poor man... But anyway here are the lyrics: For I dug a mass grave in abysmal depths For this wasted human race shall never be reborn again Cold burial, their blood stains the snow Eyes that will never see the same again, After I've shattered your mirrors forever I will not be kind in the torture you desire Walking through genocidal remnants With a hate filled heart Stabbing even at the tears of withering corpses Will there even be a word known as death anymore, When left is nothing to kill?

Description: Tiksi Military Facility This is a level I've been working on for my personal project for BA Creative Digital Media at the University of Teeside, Middlesbrough, UK. The fictional story behind the level takes place in the near future. You play as a Russian explorer sent to investigate paranormal activities in a decommissioned military base. During the cold war sometime in the sixties the Soviet Union were spending millions on the nuclear arms race with the United States. During this time they were building and maintaining several nuclear military bases in different locations spread across the Soviet Union. Among these bases, there is one that stands out. It is located on the Stolbovoy Island in the Laptev Sea. During the time the military expanded and sought new places to build bases, they carelessly took over Tiksi, a port settlement situated on the coast of the mainland around the Laptev Sea. The local populace consisting mostly of shamanistic indigenous people was angered, but they could not do much. They were transported away and moved to other settlements. In their rage, the shamans cursed the military for destroying their homes. The military started construction of barracks and research stations, as well as an airstrip. From Tiksi they deployed forces to the uninhabited Stolbovoy Island to start constructing a highly secret and state of the art underground silo facility. Here they would construct ballistic missiles that were capable of striking at the heart of the United States should a nuclear war happen. The facility was put into successful use, and several years passed. But then something mysterious happened. A seemingly paranormal incident forced the military to abandon the facility. The incident was covered up, and no contact with the base has since been had. Years later, the military reopens the case, sending a specialized company to investigate the facility. All contact is lost with this team as well, and as a last resort, you are contacted. A mercenary known for taking cases no one else wants, and also for being in tune with the paranormal. You seem like the perfect candidate for the task at hand. It is now your responsibility to find out what happened here.
