Title: Tornado - water spout Barry South Wales UK
Description: 11th January 2004 - pictures from Julian. On Sunday, onlookers said the sky went dark and the sea level rose as the tornado made its way up the Bristol Channel at around 1310 GMT. It began as a waterspout, a column of water rising over the sea, before sweeping inland. It did not cause any damage and died out after 20 minutes. A forecaster from the Meteorological Office's headquarters said such phenomena were "far from unusual", with between 50 and 100 tornadoes and waterspouts in and around the UK each year. music by the doors.

Description: Did you ever run across a line in a song that jumps out at you and makes you wonder what the writer meant? If there is a line or word in a song that just makes you wonder, let me know in the comments below. Yes, I did make up the novel pretty much as I went along, does it show? Uh, yup. Video: 1960 - Psycho: the shower scene (original)
Title: 1960 - Psycho: the shower scene (original)
Description: The famous shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film "Psycho", starring Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles. The film's pivotal scene, and one of the most famous scenes in cinema history, is the murder of Janet Leigh's character in the shower. As such, it spawned numerous myths and legends. It was shot from December 17 to December 23, 1959 and between 71 and 78 angles (the exact number is unknown). The scene "runs 3 minutes and includes 50 cuts." Most of the shots are extreme close-ups except for medium shots in the shower directly before and directly after the murder. The combination of the close shots with the short duration between cuts makes the sequence feel longer, more subjective, more uncontrolled, and more violent than the images themselves were they presented alone or in a wider angle. In order to capture the straight-on shot of the shower head, the camera had to be equipped with a long lens. The inner holes on the spout were blocked and the camera placed farther back, so that the water appears to be hitting the lens but actually went around and past it. The soundtrack of screeching violins, violas, and cellos was an original all-strings piece by composer Bernard Herrmann entitled "The Murder." Hitchcock originally wanted the sequence (and all motel scenes) to play without music, but Herrmann begged him to try it with the cue he had composed. Afterwards, Hitchcock agreed that it vastly intensified the scene and he nearly doubled Herrmann's salary. The blood in the scene is in fact chocolate syrup, which shows up better and has more realistic density than stage blood on black-and-white film. The sound of the knife entering flesh was created by plunging a knife into a casaba melon. Janet Leigh only had three weeks to work on the movie and spent the whole of one of those weeks filming the shower sequence. It is sometimes claimed that Janet Leigh was not in the shower the entire time and a body double was used. However, in an interview with Roger Ebert, and in the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, Leigh stated that she was in the scene the entire time; Hitchcock used a live model as her stand-in for only the scenes in which Bates wraps up Marion's body in a shower curtain and places her body in the trunk of her car. It is often claimed that, despite its graphic nature, the "shower scene" never once shows a knife puncturing flesh. However, a frame-by-frame analysis shows that the knife does indeed visibly penetrate the skin by a fraction of an inch, albeit only once, and so briefly (just three frames of film, or about an eighth of one second) as to be subliminal. This was done by filming the knife being drawn away, and reversed. Although Marion's eyes should be dilated after her death, the contacts necessary for this effect would have required six weeks of acclimatization in order to wear them, so Hitchcock decided to forgo them. Anthony Perkins was not used for the filming of the scene because he was in New York preparing for a play. Leigh herself was so affected by this scene when she saw it, that she no longer took showers unless she absolutely had to; she would lock all the doors and windows and would leave the bathroom and shower door open. After the film's release Alfred Hitchcock received an angry letter from the father of a girl who refused to have a bath after seeing Diaboliques, Les (1955) and now refused to shower after seeing this film. Hitchcock sent a note back simply saying, "Send her to the dry cleaners." Janet Leigh wore moleskin adhesive patches covering her private parts when she acted out the shower scene so she would not really be nude and the camera would not pick up anything supposedly obscene. However, after the warm water of the shower washed off the moleskin, Hitchcock still did one more take. The take was used in the finished film. At the end of the shower scene, the first few seconds of the camera pull-back from Janet Leigh's face is a freeze-frame. Hitchcock did this because, while viewing the rushes, his wife noticed the pulse in Leigh's neck throbbing. See my other videos for more film scenes
Video: Zachary Drinking for the First Time & Steph - Tom & Jerry
Title: Zachary Drinking for the First Time & Steph - Tom & Jerry
Description: After 6 to 8 months, you are feeding your baby more solid foods. Your baby needs less formula or breast milk as he or she gets more nutrients and calories from other foods. This is the beginning of weaning. Offer your baby fruit juice and formula from a small cup, with meals and between meals. Babies develop their motor skills by learning to drink from the cup. It may be messy as they learn, but you can use an infant cup with a lid and sipper spout to cut down on the accidents. A one-year-old baby is usually able to get all the liquid he or she needs from a cup. By one year of age, most babies are ready to drink whole milk instead of formula. Make the switch from formula to whole milk gradually. Feed your baby a mixture of formula and whole milk for a few weeks, then start giving just whole milk. Your doctor may also recommend a transitional formula for older babies. Helpful hints for weaning include the following: Gradually decrease the number of times your child gets breast milk or formula each day. Be consistent. For example, if you have stopped giving your child a bottle at noon, do not give-in on a bad day. Give a fussy baby extra attention and a drink from a cup instead of a bottle or the breast. Tell other people who care for your child about your plan for weaning so they can support you. Do not begin weaning when your child is sick or upset. Tom and Jerry are an animated cat (Tom) and mouse (Jerry) team who formed the basis of a successful series of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer theatrical short subjects created, written and directed by animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (later of Hanna-Barbera fame). One hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry cartoons were produced by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio in Hollywood from 1940 until 1957, when the animation unit was closed down. These shorts are notable for having won seven Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Cartoons), tying it with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies as the most-awarded theatrical animated series. In 1960, MGM outsourced the production of Tom and Jerry to Rembrandt Films (led by Gene Deitch) in Eastern Europe. Three years later, production of Tom and Jerry shorts returned to Hollywood with Chuck Jones' Sib-Tower 12 Productions; this series lasted until 1967. Tom and Jerry later resurfaced in TV cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera. Tom is a bluish-grey housecat, depending on the short (Tom's fur color is close to that of the Russian Blue breed of cats), who lives a pampered life, while Jerry is a small brown mouse who always lives in close proximity to him. Tom is very quick-tempered and thin-skinned, while Jerry is independent and opportunistic. Despite being very energetic and determined, Tom is no match for Jerry's brains and wits. By the iris-out of each cartoon, Jerry usually emerges triumphant, while Tom is shown as the loser. However, other results may be reached; on rare occasions, Tom triumphs. Sometimes, usually ironically, they both lose or they both end up being friends. Both characters display sadistic tendencies, in that they are equally likely to take pleasure in tormenting each other. However, depending on the cartoon, whenever one character appears to be in mortal danger (in a dangerous situation or by an enemy), the other will develop a conscience and save him. Sometimes they bond over a mutual sentiment towards an unpleasant experience. Although many supporting and minor characters speak, Tom and Jerry rarely do so. Tom, most famously, sings while wooing female cats; for example, Tom sings Louis Jordan's "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby" in the 1946 short Solid Serenade. Co-director William Hanna provided most of the squeaks, gasps, and other vocal effects for the pair, including the most famous sound effect from the series, Tom's leather-lunged scream (created by recording Hanna's scream and eliminating the beginning and ending of the recording, leaving only the strongest part of the scream on the soundtrack).

Video: Tempest vs. The Lurker Below
Title: Tempest vs. The Lurker Below
Description: Tempest killing The Lurker Below from Serpentshrine Cavern. Our Strategy: We spread warlocks and mages on each of the three outside platforms (as well as other ranged DPS) to kill the adds on each outside platform when they spawn. Warlocks fear the outside platform adds immediately to help keep them under control. Tanks help to tank the outside platform adds if needed. The three adds that spawn on the inside platform are sheeped for the entire boss fight duration (or tanked and killed, if we don't have three mages). All healers are marked with a raid marking to better judge each others location and to make sure the entire raid is covered. Keep 2-3 tank healers in range of the tanks. We jump into the water when he does Spout (most continue to DPS him; mages re-sheep the inside adds before jumping into the water), and the melee DPS back out of melee range when he is going to Whirl. Healers stay on the very back of the inside platform as to avoid getting knockback by Whirl. The MT tanks with his back to a pipe so he doesn't go anywhere if he gets knocked back.
