Title: LEONA X Factor Official Video- A Moment Like This (2006)
Description: Biography
Leona Lewis was born in Islington, London in 1985 to Joe and Maria. She is the middle child of three, with two brothers, Kyle and Bradley. They grew up in North London. Lewis wrote her first song at the age of 12, and at the age of 13, she won the Lady D under-18 talent show at the Hackney Empire. She attended the Sylvia Young Stage School and the Brit academy. Although her big passion is singing, she is also a keen dancer and actor. Before auditioning for The X Factor, Lewis recorded an album of her own songs called Twilight, but the album was never released. Leona lives in Hackney, where she worked as a receptionist.
The X-Factor
In 2006, she auditioned for the third TV series of The X Factor, singing Over the Rainbow. She made it through to the final stages and was announced the winner on 16 December 2006, winning a 1million recording contract. She was mentored by Simon Cowell.
During the show, her vocal talents were consistently highly praised by all three judges (Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne), and on occasions was compared with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. All three judges also commented on how the British music industry needed a singer like her, and that her performances were World class. Louis Walsh remarked that her performance of I Will Always Love You was as good as the Whitney Houston version. The only criticism she received, both by the judges and in the press, was related to her confidence. On the 9 December show, Cowell remarked that of all the past Pop Idol, American Idol and The X Factor performances, her performance of Over the Rainbow was the best he had ever witnessed. Cowell has also commented throughout the show that Lewis' lack of awareness as to how good she is, is what makes her special. On the night of the Grand Final, Lewis won 60% of the 8,000,000+ votes cast.
Lewis' debut single pre-sold 1,000,000 copies making it an almost certain number one before it's even been released, although at the time, the winner of the show had not been announced and it was unknown who would be releasing the XFactor single. It is now a contender for the UK Christmas number 1 single.

Title: Vintage Pinballs - EM - 50´ 60´ 70´ - part 1
Description: http://www.youtube.com/group/visualpinball
(...) By the 1930s, manufacturers were producing coin-operated versions of bagatelles, now known as "marble games" or "pin games". The table was under glass and used Redgrave's plunger device to propel the ball into the upper playfield. In 1931 David Gottlieb's Baffle Ball became the first overnight hit of the coin-operated era. Selling for $17.50, the game dispensed five balls for a penny. The game struck a chord with a public eager for cheap entertainment in a depression-era economy. Most drugstores and taverns in America operated pinball machines, with many locations making back the cost of the game in a matter of days. Baffle Ball sold over 50,000 units and established Gottlieb as the first major manufacturer of pinball machines.
In 1932, Gottlieb distributor Ray Moloney found it hard to obtain more Baffle Ball units to sell. In his frustration he founded Lion Manufacturing to produce a game of his own design, Ballyhoo, named after a popular magazine of the day. The game became a smash hit as well, its larger playfield and ten pockets making it more of a challenge than Baffle Ball, selling 50,000 units in 7 months. Moloney eventually changed the name of his company to Bally to reflect the success of this game. These early machines were relatively small, mechanically simple and originally designed to sit on a counter or bar top.
The 1930s saw a leap forward in innovation in pinball design and devices with the introduction of electrification. A company called Pacific Amusements in Los Angeles, California, USA produced a game called Contact in 1933. Contact had an electrically powered solenoid to propel the ball out of a bonus hole in the middle of the playfield. Another solenoid rang a bell to reward the player. The designer of Contact, Harry Williams, would eventually form his own company, Williams Manufacturing, in 1944. Other manufacturers quickly followed suit with similar features. In addition, electric lights soon became a standard feature of all subsequent pinball games, designed to attract people to the game.
By the end of 1932 there were approximately 150 companies manufacturing pinball machines, most of them in the city of Chicago. Chicago has been the center of pinball manufacturing ever since. Competition between the companies was brutal, however, and by 1934 there were only 14 companies left.
During World War II all of the major manufacturing companies in coin-operated games were put into use manufacturing equipment for the American war effort. Some companies like Williams bought old games from operators and refurbished them, adding new artwork with a patriotic theme.
By the end of the war, a generation of Americans looked for amusement in their bars and malt shops. Pinball saw another golden age of growth. Innovations such as the tilt mechanism and free games (known as replays) appeared.
The post-war era was dominated by Gottlieb. Game designer Wayne Neyens along with artist Leroy Parker turned out game after game that collectors consider some of the most classic pinball machines ever designed. The most famous were designed by James Rider, the man behind the epitomous catchphrase "I've got it", amongst others.
Gottlieb's Humpty Dumpty, introduced in 1947, was the first game to add player-controlled flippers to keep the ball in play longer and added a skill factor to the game. The low power of the Humpty Dumpty flippers necessitated that three pairs be placed around the playfield in order to get the ball to the top. But the addition of a DC power supply enabled the flippers on Humpty Dumpty to become only two, more powerful ones at the bottom of the Triple Action playfield -- one of many innovations by designer Steve Kordek, who is also credited with introducing the very first "drop target" (1962 on Vagabond) and "multiball" (1963 on Beat the Clock) concepts to the game. Title: Timelapse ft. Karen Danzig - Everybody's Singing
Description: Relight Orchestra Glam-Mix.
----------
Karen Danzig is an experienced, versatile performer, singer and songwriter. She has worked in many musical genres, from Pop, Dance & RnB, to Musical Theatre, Jazz & even Hardcore!
For several years, Karen has performed with Pop & Jazz bands, in shows, & has done P.A.s all over London & the UK, including international work in France, Germany, the USA & the Far East. She trained classically & achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Music & Performing Arts (Chichester Uni) & PostGrad. Diploma in Acting & Musical Theatre (Hertfordshire Theatre School). Karen also teaches singing.
Her first major recording project was with legendary 80's pop producers Stock & Aitken, which led to her being chosen to front a 'Blondie-esque' pop/rock band called The Park. The band was created to promote the world's first CD Phonecard Single, which featured 2 of Karen's songs.
She continued to write & record with the likes of Ricky Wilde (Kim's talented brother, who wrote her biggest hits!), Serious Records (Sonique's label), Slammin Vinyl, & Red Rose/Millennium (DJ Luck & MC Neat).
Solo releases include 'Outcry' (funky house) with producer Sam Bergliter (Lisa Stansfield's writer), which she showcased at the London Astoria & other UK clubs). Also 'DJ in Town' (white label released by Millennium distribution in the UK).
Karen has also worked on several commercial UK garage/2 Step projects with remixers The Problem Kids & Big Ca$ino.
Karen first met up with the hardcore posse, Hixxy, Force & Styles in '99, when she was asked to contribute a track 'Ain't Nothin' Gonna Stop Us Now' for the Sony Music TV album, 'This Is Noize' (Top 10 national UK Compilation Charts, Feb '99 & over 1 million sales in Japan). She was also featured on the nationwide club P.A. tour.
More recently, Karen has had a lucky break with a track she co-wrote with 2 D.J.s (one of which is Styles) recently signed to the biggest dance-music label in the UK, All Around The World (Danni Minogue, DJ Casper, Flip & Fill, Frankee, Ultrabeat)......
Heartbeatz (Styles & Breeze feat. KD) went to No. 16 in the Top 40 in March '05 & is also in the shops on several compilation albums which have all been at the top of the Compilation Album Charts: CLUBLAND 5 & CLUBLAND 6, which were both number 1, Floorfillers 2 & 3, Clubmix 2005 & Now That's What I call Music!.....60.
There are several great remixes being played in clubs, where it is a massive tune, particularly up North, where she has been doing exciting promotional P.A.s! The video with Karen on a heart-shaped bed with red satin sheets & dancers dressed as sexy nurses was No.1 Most Requested Video for 3 consecutive weeks on the Box TV!
Karen has been writing follow up material with Styles & Breeze, & hitmakers Flip & Fill. She has a second track on Clubland 6 called 'ONE DAY' which she wrote with Flip & Fill & is already performing the follow up to Heartbeatz called 'I WILL BE' at her club P.A.s. She is also the voice behind other Styles & Breeze hits 'CHEMICAL LOVE' & 'SLIDE AWAY'.
Finally, Karen also manages, writes for & is part of a commercial female vocal trio, TULA, who made several appearances on Simon Cowell's TV talent show, the X Factor. They have an album of catchy pop-dance trax which they hope to promote in the next few months. They regularly perform at acoustic nights around London, backed by guitar or full band, as well as doing P.A.s at clubs including Heaven, Covent Garden Roadhouse & WKD. They hope to build a large fanbase by releasing their own funky house remix version of 'Nothing Goin' On But The Rent' in the near future. Check out www.TulaGirls.com
She hopes that the success of Heartbeatz might establish her as a new pop-dance diva & get some exposure for Tula & her songs.
Other highlights of her career include opening a musical show at the Palladium; singing on The Big Breakfast during Christmas week as one of the Jingle Belles, with Johnny & Denise; performing for 30,000 people at the School Disco event on Clapham Common with 80's latino band Modern Romance; & singing on a World Tour with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
Karen was brought up by profoundly deaf parents with a deaf sister & hearing brother........
