Description: Robin of Sherwood fanvid.Set to the haunting music by Clannad. I used my own footage of woodland and merged it with Robin clips and dialogue. For me, Now Is Here is a love song about Robin & Marion.It also has a sadness about it and it was used to great effect, especially when Robin of Loxley sacrifices himself to save the Marion & the group. I wanted to try and show the love and friendship between Robin and the group but also hint that the video is about saying "Goodbye", a bit like the flaming arrow tributes used in the show. I have no more completed Robin videos to upload (this one was finished in 2005,just before I became a Dad!)Will get back to working on the others one day soon. Description: Clannad are a Grammy Award-winning Irish musical group, from Gweedore (Gaoth Dobhair), County Donegal. Their music has been variously described as bordering on folk and folk rock, Irish, and New Age. They are known for performing in various languages, including English, Latin, Gàidhlig, Mohican and most of all in their native tongue, Irish. Clannad are Moya Brennan (born Máire Ní Bhraonáin), Ciarán Brennan (born Ciarán Ó Braonáin), Pól Brennan (born Pól Ó Braonáin), Noel Duggan (born Noel Ó Dúgáin) and Pádraig Duggan (born Pádraig Ó Dúgáin). Clannad first made their mark in the folk and traditional scene in the 1970s in Ireland and Europe, they subsequently went on to bridge the gap between traditional celtic music and pop music in the 1980s and 1990s with albums such as Macalla and Anam. During their successful career they toured the world extensively and gained fans in every major territory. Lead singer Moya Brennan and her sister Enya have also enjoyed huge success as solo artists. The band won a Grammy Award in 1998 for Best New Age Album, and their record sales exceed the 15 million mark. Description: THE POISON GLEN, GWEEDORE, DONEGAL: *Legend 1- There's one [legend which we use in our songs] about a one eyed ogre that came from Tory Island across to Donegal and cried a poison tear which fell on top of this glen and it became a poison glen or Gleann Nimhe in Irish Gaelic. And then there is supposed to have been a siege during the 'Blackentown wars' in which the local people poisened the river, and that was the way they made their escape. *Legend 2- Another well known story is that a peasant woman went up to the Guiness House [you can see it behind the trees, driving past] asking Lord Guiness to give her some extra time to pay her rent for her land. Guiness owned a lot of the land in Donegal and Fermanagh, but was a selfish man. He told her that she must leave the land and never return without more than she actually owed. She pointed her finger and said that she had cursed the house, and no new child would ever be born there. Curses were very offensive in those days. Even now, in rural areas, the most horrible thing you could say in Gaelic is Mallacht Ort, or Curse You. There is no bad language in Gaelic that you'd find in English for example, but to tell someone you had cursed them was mind-shattering to them. Anyway, Guiness' wife fell pregnant and her first child was born dead. The second time she fell pregnant, she miscarried after five months. The third, and final time she fell pregnant, she miscarried, and died herself. The peasant woman is now said to walk across Dunlewey lake, back and forward to the Guiness house at night. She is known as the Green Lady. Many who walk up the Dunlewey road at night say they've seen her, and have rendered her as harmless. All she wanted was a little bit of help.
