The architecture was intended to be part of the landscape, perhaps suggesting a rock outcropping. The mail level is built around a geometry of flowing curves connecting all the main spaces organically, orgnanized around a two story wall of glass and protected by a floating curvalinear roof. The lower level contains the sleeping rooms and an atrium adjacent to teh glass wall, which opens onto a terrace with a large spa. The kitchen and family rooms share space and open onto a large entertaining terrace through a dissappearing glass door. The entry is located along a curved line of frameless glass panels, the door being one of the panels which opens, and is accessed from a landscaped private courtyard. Thus the lines of indoor and outdoor are blurred. ABOUT ARCHITECT DAVID M. PARKER: David Parker studied fine art and environmental design at California State University, Fullerton, Ca., and today is in private practice in Laguna Beach, California, specializing in custom residential.
