Video: A Place You
Title: A Place You've Called Home
Description: I wrote this song many moons ago, during The Old Oak Folk Festival, in Greeneville TN, where I met a man from the UK who was performing there too. He knew it was his first and last visit to Tennessee because he had cancer. All he could think about was that he would never again get to see the mountains and the sunsets, the bluegrass music, and the friends he had met. I wanted to tell him, that it was all the more reason to take in every single moment of it, and not waste a moment thinking and lamenting over what might never be. That night I wrote this song, and played it for him the next morning. He loved the song, and I sent him a tape after he returned home to the UK. His daughter learned the song, and played it for him often. If by some chance, she ever sees this, I hope she will contact me. It has been 30 years, and I have no way of finding her. But I would love to mention her dad's name here with her permission. Lyrics: You always remember a place you've called home though you're out and on your own And if you return, well there's no one to blame If it's never quite the same And when you go back to a place that you love It's never quite the way it was But memries of people are deep down inside, those you've laughed with, and you've cried (chorus) And all those friends along the way sad but true some fade away just remember from the start, your memories won't fade if you gave from your heart And this to remember above all else, when you give all you've got, you'll aquire great wealth Your mem'ries are treasures that come from the past, if you've lived each day as your last (chorus) And when it is time to move on and you're blue, you wonder, have those you've loved, loved you well those you have touched from the moment you met they've touched you too, and you'll never forget yes those you have touched you have given the best, you've given your self and they'll never, I'll never forget.

Video: Because Baby
Title: Because Baby
Description: An original composition by Donald Girard written July 23rd, 2008 . I wrote this for my wife. I was inspired by her and the words just came along once the idea started to form. Everything else is History. The smile on her face when I played it for her was worth a Million Bucks. I said to a friend that I wouldn't trade Ginny for all the Tea in China. As what is the point of having Riches and Possessions. When your own personal life is in tatters. Love is the most important ingredient in one's life all else is meaningless and can fade or be stolen. Love will always remain and it doesn't corrode or decay. This is in a similar vein as some of the"Barenaked Ladies" tunes. I seem to write things with a little tongue and cheek. Hope you enjoy it.
