Title: Ants Marching - Dave Matthews Band - (Drums Cover) Brandon Hopkins
Description: Dave Matthews Band - "Ant Marching" Covered by Brandon Hopkins.
I recorded This in my practice space, out in the shed! lol.
My drum kit is an old Baxter four piece, piece of crap but it does me good for now, till i can afford seomthing better or maybe until i get endorsed or something :) so if theres any out there that wants to endorse a great drummer, i'm that drummer!, haha kidding! but seriously!
I use a kord D-1600 recording unit for recording, mixing and mastering. It has built in effects and many options for mixing and mastering. Its a great little machine for any musician. I use Cad microphones placed on - snare, toms, kick, and two overheads.
I am using an HP digital camera, nothing special, thats why the quality isnt that great so i try and make up for it with great sound quality.
Post recording: I import the video and audio into Adobe Premeire Pro 2.0 editing suite and do all the fancy work there. I import the video first then take out the audio from that(cameras audio), then import the audio that is mixed and mastered on my D-1600 unit, then I sync the video and audio together. I Highly recommend this program for any youtuber.

Title: Dave McClain of Machine Head - Best Drummer in the World
Description: Everyone has their own opinion on who is a great drummer. People are going to criticise me for my opinion that Dave McClain is fucking awesome. Yes yes, John Bonham, Joey, Lars Ulrich blah blah Dave Lombardo yeah I think in their own right they are great but I really want to stick up for Dave McClain. He is the most underrated drummer in the history of music. In every poll he never even get in the top 100 and that is nothing to do with his talent. For some fucked up reason he is not recognised. His abilities are beyond any other drummer I know, he is a spectacle to behold. So what makes him this killer drummer I keep going on about?!?!?
Dave has a unique style when he plays. His toms are flat in front of him so he can be seen when he plays. His kit looks really cool. When he plays, he hardly uses the standard technique of a right handed drummer playing a hi-hat on the left of the kit (which he does have) but prefers to use the hi-hats on the right of the kit so his arms are stretched out across his very wide drum kit. This means he looks particularly different to other drummers but in a very cool unique way. He also plays backwards at times, often swapping from the traditional right hand cymbal hit left hand snare to the other way around, left hand cymbal right hand snare. He throws himself around the kit in a very visually appealing way. But his ability on the drums is incredible. He recently taught himself to play double bass not just left right left right, but left left right right. This can be heard during the fast double bass part towards the end of Imperium and In The Presence of my Enemies. His beats are interesting, not standard 4/4 but off beats. He plays the most interesting fills ever, he drives music forward, he hits as hard if not harder than any other drummer, and unlike Joey Jordison he's not just about playing fast he's about stretching the music as far as it will go with the power of the drums.
Genius, and I love his drumming. Take a moment to listen to my video and if you like anything you hear get hold of The Blackening by Machine Head and you will see just how amazing he is. Some examples on my video include the drum roll intro to Bulldozer and Seasons Wither, the incredible tom variety beat from Imperium and Aesthetics of Hate which is just killer.
Enjoy.

Title: The Chameleons - Swamp Thing
Description: From Wikipedia:
"The Chameleons (called The Chameleons UK on some American releases) were a dream pop/post-punk band that formed in Middleton, in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England in 1981 (see 1981 in music). They consisted of singer and bassist Mark Burgess, guitarist Reg Smithies, guitarist Dave Fielding, drummer John Lever as well as keyboardists Alistair Lewthwaite and Andy Clegg. Their body of work is still critically acclaimed within the music press and influenced bands as diverse as The Smiths, Protokoll, The Comsat Angels, Puressence, Interpol, Editors.[1] Through Mark Burgess' penetrating vocals and dark and ironic lyrics, their songs often dealt with personal themes of childlike innocence and a reverence for nostalgia. Musically, perhaps most notable in their work was the band's innovative and distinctive use of dual guitar melodies, courtesy of Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding, as opposed to the traditional rhythm-and-lead guitarist format prevalent in rock music even to this day. These arrangements were often characterized by the use of delay and choral effects. The Chameleons' unique sound is quite often compared to U2's The Edge."
