Video: The Diamonds - The Stroll
Title: The Diamonds - The Stroll
Description: The Diamonds were a clean-cut white vocal group that had sixteen hits between 1956 and 1961. The original group consisted of Dave Somerville, Phil Levitt, Ted Kowalski, and Bill Reed. When Kowalski and Reed left they were replaced by Californians John Felton and Evan Fischer. The Diamonds began their singing in local clubs, school functions, church socials, and anywhere they could find an audience. They came to the attention of Coral Records, a subsidiary of Decca Records, where they covered two records, Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots ( a hit for the Cheers) & "Nip Sip" (a Clovers song) in 1955. Neither sold well enough to convince Coral to retain them. However, Bill Randle, an influential Cleveland deejay, liked them enough to mention their name to an executive at Mercury Records. the Diamonds signed with one of the labels that developed the market for "covers." The Diamonds decision to cover rhythm and blues artist was the result of economic reality: cover records sold very well in markets where the original versions wouldn't be acceptable. Among their hits in 1956 were "Why Do Fools Fall In Love," "Church Bells May Ring," "Love, Love, Love" and "Ka-King-Dong," originally recorded by the Teenagers, the Willows, the Clovers, and the G-Clefs, respectively. Their biggest hit was a cover of the Gladiola's "Little Darlin'." The Gladiolas version came out in the first week in February, 1957. In less then two weeks the Diamonds version was out. The Diamonds continued covering other artists and their version of "Words of Love" brought the song's writer Buddy Holly his first significant royalties. In the late spring of 1957, Chuck Willis' "C.C. Ryder" became the first of a string of rhythm and blues songs based on a dance named the Stroll. Clyde Otis, a songwriter who had with Nancy Lee written a song based on the new dance, approached the Diamonds. "The Stroll" became a huge hit partly as a result as a result of repeated airings on American Bandstand. "The Stroll" was perfect for television because it was exuberant and photogenic. The groups popularity waned after "The Stroll." By 1959, after "She Say (Oom Dooby Doom), the group's popularity was over as they no longer appealed to the teenagers. During the next two years the Diamonds became a popular attraction on the dinner club circuit in Las Vegas, New York, and Chicago. They had a minor hit in 1961 with a version of the Danleers 1958 hit, "One Summer Night." Soon thereafter, the group disbanded. Video: Britney Spear
Title: Britney Spear's 25 Most Memorable Outfits
Description: 1. The pop princess wowed the crowd at the 2001 VMAs when she accessorized with a slithering yellow snake during her performance of "I'm A Slave 4 U." 2. We couldn't possibly forget Brit's buzz cut, her trusty green umbrella, or this outrageous night on the town. 3. Britney solidified her comeback when she stole the spotlight in a silver cocktail frock at the 2008 VMAs. 4. Critics and fans both cringed when Britney bombed at the '07 VMAs as she struggled through "Gimme More" in a bedazzled bikini. 5. The denim dress Ms. Spears sported to the 28th Annual AMAs was a dud, but JT's ensemble was a downright disaster. 6. Someone should have called the fashion police on Britney for unveiling this Village People-inspired ensemble at the 2002 VMAs. 7. Pairing a neon pink wig with caramel-colored boots is unforgivable. Even Brit's pooch is terrified of her outfit. 8. The pop tart puts on her Sunday best for a trip to Del Taco. Instead of a burrito, Britney should have ordered a mirror. 9. Britney set the stage on fire at the 2000 VMAs in a crystal-encrusted costume and matching metallic booties. 10. Brit donned this gruesome getup for her highly anticipated return to the stage at the House of Blues in May 2007. Needless to say, her performance wasn't the only thing that bombed that evening. 11. At the 2003 VMAs, Britney unsuccessfully attempted to recreate the classic look Madonna made famous 20 years earlier. 12. Even Britney knew how terrible she looked in her Daisy Dukes, ratty shirt, and outdated Uggs while doing a lil' late night shopping in Malibu. 13. The 2000 Billboard Music Awards got an unfortunate burst of color when Britney hit the red carpet in this blinding ensemble. 14. Trucker hats were so 2003. Brit's socks, on the other hand, were never fashionable. 15. In 2002, Britney arrived at the NRJ Music Awards wearing little more than a smile. 16. PETA should have rescued that puppy! He didn't deserve to be seen alongside a poorly-dressed Britney at the 2004 Billboard Music Awards. 17. Miami is hot, but Brit's outfit was not. Spears sported this ghastly getup for a night on the town in South Beach. 8. Brit's got the bod, but mod is not her style. 19. Brit hit the red carpet at the 2001 VMAs in a racy lacey number and strappy sandals. 20. Britney attempted to class it up at the 42nd Annual Grammys in a form-fitting white gown and diamonds. 21. Where to begin? 22. The "Crossroads" premiere featured Britney in a cute pale pink dress and jeans. Unfortunately, her tragic hat and silly shoes overshadowed her outfit. 23. OK, we'll admit it. This outfit could be cute ... if it didn't include one of Britney's numerous see-thru tops. 24. What's worse? Brit's repugnant coat, or that thing on her arm? 25. Britney embraced her country roots at Nickelodeon's 16th Annual Kids' Choice Awards in a western belt and cute cowboy boots.
Video: Yvette/Tuesday/Carol
Title: Yvette/Tuesday/Carol
Description: A tribute to Yvette Mimieux, Tuesday Weld and Carol Lynley, three talented and lovely blonde actresses of the 60s who were typed as ingenues and nymphets in their early careers but proved that they were much more than that. Yvette Mimieux, daughter of a French father and Mexican mother, started off playing meek and frightened young women, but she fought against the typecasting, playing diverse roles in her forties, and in 1974 she starred in a TV movie ("Hit Lady") which she also wrote, playing a female assassin. Even in her early work there was something touching and powerful: the lost Melanie who mistakes sex for love and pays dearly in "Where The Boys Are" (1960); the mentally challenged teenage girl who falls in love with an Italian boy in "Light In The Piazza" (1961), and as Sloan Howland, who loves a Hawaiian boy much to the chagrin of her controlling brother , leading to tragedy in "Diamond Head"(1962). Her last appearance was in another TV movie, "Lady Boss" (1992). She has had success as an anthropologist and as a businesswoman. Once married to director Stanley Donan, Yvette is now living in retirement. Tuesday Weld began as a child model and despite many emotional difficulties, proved very effective as both a comedic actress and a dramatic one. Her tumultous private life sparked the public's interest. Some classic examples include rape survivor and incest victim Selena Cross in "Return To Peyton Place" (1961); the sociopathic teenage murderess Sue Ann in "Pretty Poison" (1968), and as F. Scott Fitzgerald's mentally unhinged wife Zelda in "F. Scott Fitzgerald In Hollywood" (1976). She has made a few films in the late 1990s and at the start of the decade, but primarily lives out of the public eye, having raised three children and is now a grandmother. Carol Lynley began as a child model in her native New York; one of her aquaintances at the time was future star Sandra Dee. Her childlike features trapped her in some instances, but she was still capable of moving performances. In "Blue Denim" (1959) she played a pregnant teenager adjusting to life's changes; taking over the role of Allison MacKenzie in "Return To Peyton Place" (1961), the secretary who has her eyes on Gene Tierney's husband in "The Pleasure Seekers" (1963), and as the frantic mother of a missing child in Otto Preminger's "Bunny Lake Is Missing" (1965) opposite Laurence Olivier and Keir Dullea. She has made occasional forays back into films over the years, and is very game in participating in documentaries and biographies of other Tinsletown personalities that she has known, giving meaningful and thoughtful insights. Married and divorced once, she has a daughter. DISCLAIMER: All photos, stills, clips and music are copyrighted to their respective owners. No infringement intended.

Title: Lucky *S2 episode 2*Just Wanna Be With You
Description: Carson's POV (She was in her room, listening to music and getting ready for her date. She was going rocker tonight. She had a black and silver rocker-tee, with a silver jacket. She was wearing a denim skirt with black leggings, and silver boots. Then her phone rang.) On The Phone Carson: Hey. (Kinda flirty.) ???: Hello? Carson: Who is this? ???: It's Joe. Carson: Oh, Joe. (Awkward.) What's up? Joe: Not much. Just seeing what you were up to. Carson: Oh, I'm actually getting ready to go out. (She heard Peyton's car pull into the driveway.) Joe: Oh, with who? Carson: (She panicked.) Just a friend. And there waiting on me so I really gotta go. Talk to you later. (She couldn't tell him the truth, and she hated that.) Joe: Okay...(She hung up.) Bye. (Carson walked out to meet Peyton. He gave her a short kiss, and they left for the movie.) Kayla's POV (Nick and Kayla were finally gettting to celebrate there 2 month anniversary. She was wearing a blue blouse, with a white cropped jacket and a white pleated knee-length skirt. And small blue heels. They ate at the Olive Garden, and then headed for the beach. They were walking hand-in-hand, along the water's edge.) Nick: I'm so glad we finally got to do this. Kayla: Me too. Nick: I missed you so much on the tour. Kayla: Yeah, I know what you mean. But school's starting soon, so hopefully we can see each other a lot more. Nick: Definately. (They leaned in and kissed. Then the waves crashed up against Kayla's legs.) Kayla: Aaahh. Cold. Cold. Nick: I got it. (He picked her up and swung her away from the waves.) Kayla: Thank you. (She said, and they both laughed.) (They walked aways up the beach and sat down in the sand. They sat there together, looking into the sunset.) Kayla: Wow, the colors are so beautiful. Nick: Just like you. (Kayla smiled and looked at Nick.) I love you, Kayla. Kayla: I love you too. (They kissed again.) Carson's POV (The next day, Peyton was over at Carson's house. They were sitting together on the couch, watching Madagascar. Peyton had his arm around Carson's waist.) Peyton: Sprechen Sie Englisch? Carson: I sprechen. (They laughed and it turned into a tickle fight.) Carson: (Laughing) No, Peyton stop. (She couldn't keep a serious face.) I mean it. Peyton: You don't look like you mean it. (Smiling.) (They fell over on the couch, Peyton on top of Carson, still tickling her. Then he stopped and put his hands on either side of Carson to support his weight. He leaned in and kissed her. Then he put his right hand behind her head as he deepened the kiss. Carson felt his tongue on her lips and she let him in. Then suddenly, her sister, Khariss, walked in.) Khariss: AHEM. (Carson and Peyton shot up so fast, they could have gotten whiplash.) Khariss: Peyton, I think it's time for you to head home. Carson has to get ready for cheer practice. Peyton: Um...yeah. (They both got up and Carson gave her sister a *way to ruin the mood* look. Carson walked Peyton out to his car. They said there goodbyes and Carson began walking back up the front porch.) Peyton: Carson! Wait! (She looked back to see Peyton running up.) Peyton: Listen, I got you something, and I almost didn't give it to you. But I realize I really want to. (He pulled out a jewelry box.) Carson: What is it? (Peyton gave her the box and she opened it and inside was a ring. It had a silver band with a red heart-shaped diamond in the middle. On one side of the diamond it said "I" and on the other side it said "YOU".) Peyton: It's a ring. But it doesn't mean anything extra. It's not like a promise ring or anything, cause I don't want to freak you out. But I wanted to give you something... (He said it all really fast, and his words ran together a little bit.) Carson: (She was in shock; one because he knew her that well, to give her a ring instead of the usual necklace or bracelet, he knew she liked rings better. And two because it said "I LOVE YOU.") Peyton: You hate it. I'm sorry. Carson: No, it's beautiful. (She tried a smile and he smiled back, buying it for the moment.) (They kissed and then Peyton really left. Carson stayed on the porch for a while, just thinking about it. *He loved her. Did she love him back? She didn't say it back. But what does that mean?* She couldn't help feeling there was something or someone in the way. But for now, she loved the ring.) --------------------------------------- Sorry it took so long. I realize that I probably lost all my viewers because of that, but school is so time consuming. :(

He is also known for hosting MTV's Pimp My Ride. He has released a new album once every two years since his 1996 debut At the Speed of Life; his most recent Full Circle, was released in October 2006. He also provided the voice for Abbott in the 2004 video game, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.At a very young age he was taught to write by his mother Trena who passed away when Xzibit was nine years old. His father re-married and the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Xzibit spent his adolescence. At the age of 13 Xzibit began listening to rap and writing lyrics, which didn't go over well with his ex-Marine father and strict stepmother, who were both Jehovah's Witnesses. From 14 to 17, Xzibit spent much of his time on the streets of Albuquerque and began to get into trouble. His misfortunes followed him to school and he was expelled from the high schools in Albuquerque.Xzibit started off as a member of the Likwit Crew, a loose collective of West Coast rappers including Tha Alkaholiks and King T. After touring with them in 1995, Loud Records released the young rapper's debut album, At the Speed of Life in 1996. The album quickly became an underground hit. When Xzibit released his follow-up, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz (1998), he was again heralded as one of the West Coast's most promising talents despite no commercial success. He expanded his following with a series of albums beginning in the late 1990s, ultimately aligning himself with hip hop kingpin Dr. Dre. Xzibit's big breakthrough came when he joined Snoop Dogg for the Dr. Dre-produced hit, "Bitch Please." What followed were some high profile guest appearances on Dr. Dre's 6x platinum 2001, on songs like "What's the Difference?" and the posse song "Some L.A. Niggaz". By this time, Dre had invited the young rapper to criss-cross America during summer 2000 with the "Up in Smoke" tour which featured Snoop, Eminem, and Ice Cube, among many others. That winter, Loud released Xzibit's Restless with Dr. Dre as executive producer, which boasted the single "X". The song became the rapper's biggest hit yet.Xzibit returned with another album, Man Vs. Machine, yet again he fell a bit short of mainstream success, although he did manage to go gold. He continued to collaborate with his closest West Coast colleagues, primarily Ras Kass and Saafir with whom he formed The Golden State Project rap collective, and tha Liks, along with bigger names like Snoop Dogg and Eminem. His allegiance to the West Coast and former colleagues continued to win him much respect from his fans. Weapons of Mass Destruction followed two years later which also managed to go gold. Xzibit also has his own record label called Open Bar Entertainment.Xzibit also guest starred in the song Stand Up on the 2005 Alice Cooper album Dirty Diamonds. Xzibit used to be a part of a group called Strong Arm Steady with Mitchy Slick, Phil The Agony and Krondon, a group he practically founded. Xzibit actually left the group recently when they signed to Talib Kweli's Blacksmith Records. They are expected to release their first album, "Arms And Hammers" in the fall of 2006 under Blacksmith Music Corporation. Xzibit performed in Japan as part of Live Earth.Dupri said once he is a better producer than Dr. Dre and Timbaland. Dupri was in feud with Aftermath and with Dr. Dre, Eminem. Xzibit joined Aftermath and Dupri dissed him. Xzibit with the assistance of Eminem responded in the song My Name and Jermaine Dupri has never responded to this since. Xzibit and Eminem diss Jeramine Dupri in a DJ Kayslay exclusive "Grindin".This beef started when Xzibit claimed that he could have gained fame without J-Ro and the rest of Tha Alkaholiks and Xzibit had dissed Jermaine Dupri and King Tee. J-Ro dissed Xzibit on his song "The X-Homie" where one of the claims made was that Xzibit was posing as a Crip. Xzibit didn't respond to J-Ro, and the beef has been squashed and Joiner has began working with The Alkaholiks and Defari again. In the Gumball 3000 2007 rally, Xzibit took part driving a black Lamborghini Gallardo. During the first day of the rally, Dutch police seized his driver's license for doing 160 km/h where only 100 km/h allowed. After the penalty his co-driver took over the wheel and they were allowed to continue.Xzibit has appeared in several acting roles on the big screen. He portrayed Duncan in Full Clip in 2004 and Dexter in Derailed in 2005. He also played Zeke in XXX: State of the Union in 2005. He had a small role as a worker at New Detroit Stamping in 8 Mile. In 2006, he starred in Hoodwinked, as the voice of Chief Grizzly. Xzibit co-stars with pro-wrestler The Rock in the Gridiron Gang, released in 2006.Xzibit is the host of the MTV show Pimp My Ride. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri but grew up in Senegal until he was seven. He split time between Senegal and the U.S. until he was fifteen, then his family permanently moved to Jersey City, New Jersey and as such he speaks English, French, and Wolof. He recorded his first song, "Operations of Nature," at the age of fifteen. He was jailed for armed robbery and drug distribution charges, and used his time in prison to work on his music. Upon release, Akon began writing and recording tracks in his home studio. The tapes found their way to SRC/Universal, which released Akon's debut LP Trouble in June 2004. The album is a hybrid of Akon's silky, West African-styled vocals mixed with East Coast and Southern beats.Akon's solo debut album, Trouble was released on June 29, 2004. It spawned the hit singles "Locked Up" and "Lonely," as well as "Belly Dancer (Bananza)," "Pot Of Gold," and "Ghetto". Akon served a three-year jail sentence for grand theft auto, an experience that inspired his "Locked Up". "Locked Up" reached the top 10 in the U.S. and the top five in the UK. His manager Robert Montanez was shot to death following a dispute in New Jersey in December 2005. "Ghetto" became a radio hit when it was remixed by Green Lantern to include verses from legendary rappers 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. In 2005, he released the single "Lonely" (which samples Bobby Vinton's "Mr. Lonely"). The song reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the charts in Australia, the UK and Germany. His album also climbed to number one in the UK in April, 2005. When music channel The Box had a top ten weekly chart, which was calculated by the amount of video requests, Akon's "Lonely" became the longest running single on the top of the chart, spanning over fifteen weeks. Akon then released another single featuring with a New Zealand rapper, Savage with the single Moonshine, which had become a success in both New Zealand and Australia, becoming number one in the New Zealand charts. In 2005, Akon gained more popularity after being featured on Young Jeezy's debut album, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, on the song "Soul Survivor" which became a top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100.Akon's second album, entitled Konvicted, was released on November 14, 2006.
